"Art does not reproduce what is visible. It creates visible what is not always visible."
This line from Paul Klee encapsulates part of his poetry, and is translated into the graffiti technique that the artist employs in his painting "Fish Magic" from 1925.
The surface of the painting is dark, a formless background; as before the explosion and creation of life, which was the big bang: in the beginning was darkness. This darkness is the stuff that is the subconscious, which lies under the facade of things and even us which is hard to see and understand, which seems to be a real mystery. Understanding our unconscious, as well as the secrets of existence, is an arduous if not impossible feat an arduous task isn't everyone willing to take on. Mirror in the wall, what are the pieces of my life?
The light of the moon shines in the darkness
Klee's magical fish don't claim to be truth but they are only light that illuminates darkness. They are inhabitants of the dark, creatures of the subconscious. The artist works on his or her way across the subconscious as well as the canvas, beneath which are hidden, but vibrant images, characters, colours, plants and shapes. The purpose of this process is vital and healing, showing that, deep in the depths of the sea and the darkness of ignorance, there are small shimmering creatures that stir the water and follow the currents. fish magic are stories, desires and tales, flashes of ideas and dreams that emerge from the dark night. They are games that wallow in the density of existence and are vivid childhood fantasies, impulsive thoughts that subconsciously or consciously steer people's hopes and actions.
Rare and precious fish
Are these fishes true or not? To these exotic and esoteric life forms?
The essence of these signs is that fish do not care to be believed; their existence is not
is influenced by external acceptance. fish magic believe that we know and manage everything, that we are in control of the whole image of everything, but deep within the ocean, in the unconscious and the past decades of our lives, are in the midst of the complexities and random events of which we are completely ignorant: unnoticed fish as well as rare and precious creatures. You believe you know all that you are, but you don't realize that there exists, in the most hidden and inseparable parts within you, an fish that wags its tail and, despite the fact that it is kept into a place that is not accessible to the brain it lets out visceral thoughts and jelly. Then, you forget that dream that was a distant memory, that was the child's innocence and was locked away in a bubblethat was nothing but the aquarium of the fish. And the dream lies there, a viper of a fish which turns and turns within the sphere, and then and then shows its teeth. You see the gleams of its formless reflections because you have pulled off the shutter and darkness has filled the room.
Accustoming the senses
In the dark and silent but it's easier to perceive light, see movements, hear the sound of rustling You just need to adjust your perception to being in darkness. It can take a while, and it is annoying at first because you have the impression that you're blind. However, once you become used to it, you'll be able to be able to see through the darkness, you can even feed off the darkness. The scales shimmer, bubbles pop in transparent ways, but nothing really is crystal clear, but the whole appears to be a complete picture that you could scratch just a bit more in the event that we're alive and want to know ourselves a little more.
Watching them as they swim
What should we do with these fish? Do we need to fish them and bring them up to the surface or keep them hidden in the seabed? Surely it is important to preserve their wildness and savagery and not force them into aquariums with sunlit lights by the sun or use them as the primary course in the lunch of logic. Precisely in their nature irrational, ugly and abnormal nature lies their strength and the key we can use to discover our true essence. The fish must be watched by allowing ourselves to be seduced by their frequent and constant swimming. It's a meditation, a continuous repetition that lets one learn more about them every moment. It is important to be aware of the flashes that flash in front of us and quickly disappear as they are a series of lights that briefly illuminate the darkness of our being. They allow us to look into the dark corners of our being.
Ocean currents
The fish aren't stationary and move from you to me and vice versa; they have discovered a collective current, which roughly passes all of us and connects our common opinions and ideas. The fish know you however they do not consider you a threat and do not want borders to limit them. The dark is their home however they are not afraid of sometimes being caught and having their essence shine through like a bolt of lightning, or eureka like a ray energy that travels up the spine and explodes into the brain, like the electrical flow of current that runs through the light cables. The fish are like that, swimming, bobbing, dancing in their flow, the immense ocean is their home and they are not afraid of the absence of walls and limits. It is in the sphericity the world that they can feel the freedom of being able to be there now and not later and being able to wander eternally, aware of the fact that in all times, they'll return since in the oceans of the unconscious, the path is circular.
